What can you eat and drink in the library?
Corps de texte

Our snack policy aims to:

  • ensure user comfort: no noisy or smelly food.
  • protect our collections and facilities from damage: do not leave traces or crumbs that may attract rodents and insects or damage the facilities.

Snack guidelines

Certain foods and drinks are allowed in our spaces, with the exception of the Marie Delcourt room and the heritage consultation room. We kindly ask you to follow these guidelines:

🧃 Drinks

  • In covered or resealable containers: water bottles or capped bottles.
  • No cups, to avoid spills when moving around.
  • Coffee is allowed in covered containers.
  • Cans are not recommended: choose containers that can be resealed.
  • No alcohol, even during baptisms.

🍏 Snacks

  • Non-messy snacks are allowed: fruit, packaged snacks.
  • No lunches (sandwiches, salads, wraps, pasta, fast food, etc.) or messy snacks (ice cream, chips, etc.). Take a break to enjoy them outside the library.
  • Do not leave any food on an empty desk or in a library locker. Any food left unattended may be thrown away by library staff.

🗑️ Waste

  • Keep the tables clean: please dispose of your waste in the recycling bins provided.
  • Avoid throwing organic waste in the library trash cans: they are not always emptied daily and can therefore attract pests. 🐀
