€493,935 were paid by researchers in 2023 as APC (Article Processing Charges), an average of €2,297 per article! This represents an increase of 12.8% compared with 2022. Colossal sums lost for scientific research. However, solutions do exist to bring the bill down.

Work began this week, August 19, on the energy-efficiency renovation of the B6b building, which houses the Science Library (ULiège Library). 

On 12 July 2024, ORBi topped the 100,000 milestone for open access publications, which means that they are accessible worldwide at a single click! This success demonstrates our commitment to the free and open dissemination of scientific knowledge.

Last month, more than 500 researchers submitted 1,042 publications. Of these, 76% contain full text and 76% are open access.

ULiège Library's annual report (in French) for 2023 is officially out! The year 2023 appears to be rich in activities, projects and collaborations carried out within our library units and branches. Well done to all those who have contributed, through their involvement in these activities or by helping with the writing!

Michel Moutschen, ULiège's Vice-Rector of Research, initiated a project to enhance ORBi. 

Key aspects include exploring ULiège's scientific trends and analyzing knowledge gaps to inspire new research areas.

From 2 to 28 April, the Rêve Général festival will be held on the Sart Tilman campus: more than 120 partners are joining forces to put on a unique event to reconcile Art, Science and Democracy.

As part of the event, ULiège Library is presenting a selection of books on the themes of health, the environment, migration and gender. These selections will be on display at various times during the festival, and you can find them online via our galleries.
