From 22 July to 30 August, the library applies the "cramming period" policy to help you study in the best conditions.
During the cramming period:
- Studying in the library is reserved for ULiège and CHU members due to the crowding. Your student card gives you access to our areas and services: remember to take it with you on every visit. You may be asked to show it at any time.
- You must book your seat in some of our libraries (see below).
Good to know
- Holidays: the libraries will be closed on Thursday 15 August and Saturday 31 August.
- Snacks: feeling peckish? Please read our conditions for snacks in the library.
- Working spaces : ULiège has a number of study and co-working spaces, some of which will remain open in July and August.
Extended opening hours
Reading room (20-Août):
- Weekdays: 08:30 to 21:00.
- Saturday: 09:00 to 18:00.
Health – CHU:
- Weekdays: 08:30 to 21:00.
- Saturday: 09:00 to 18:00.
Léon Graulich:
- Weekdays: 08:30 to 20:00.
- Saturday: 09:00 to 18:00.
Opening hours at our other libraries remain unchanged.
Seat reservations
1 - It is mandatory to book your seat in the following locations.
Downtown (20-Août)
- Germanic Languages & Literatures
- Romance Languages & Literatures
- Reading Room (20-Août)*
- Historical Sciences

Seats can be booked for the whole day, up to a maximum of 4 days in advance. It will be possible to reserve a place from Thursday 18 July.
*New: Book It allows you to select a specific seat in the library, on an interactive map, in these three locations.
2 - Upon your arrival, check in to confirm your presence.
Use the QR code located at the seat you booked. Without check-in, your seat will be automatically released within 30 minutes after the beginning of your reservation period.
New: check-in will now only be possible in the vicinity of the library (using your browser's geolocation feature). This is in response to suggestions made during our last survey on seat reservations. If you don't have a smartphone or computer that can do this, please contact the library reception desk: we'll check in for you.
3 - If you're unable to come, cancel your reservation.

Students from other institutions
Due to the large number of students coming during the reading period, study in the library is reserved for members of the ULiège and the CHU of Liège.
However, several ULiège areas remain accessible to you during this period and you can still benefit from our resources and services (loans, returns, reservations, consultation of specific documents, etc.). You are welcome to use them for the rest of the year.
