Cramming Period - Libraries & study rooms

18 July 2025
Site_Blocus d'été 2025

From Monday July 28 to Friday August 29*, the "cramming period" policy will be applied to libraries and study rooms to enable you to study in the best possible conditions.

During the cramming period:

  • Studying in the library is reserved for ULiège and CHU members due to the crowding. Your student card gives you access to our areas and services: remember to take it with you on every visit. You may be asked to show it at any time. You'll also need your physical card to pass through the secure entrances to the Reading Room and Graulich Library. It is not possible to open the gates with the virtual card available in our Library Mobile app.
  • You must book your seat in some of our libraries (see below).
  • Additional study rooms are available for both ULiège and non-ULiège students. Some are also available on Saturdays.

*At the Health - CHU library, the "cramming period" policy will apply until friday September 5.

Good to know

  • Snacks: feeling peckish? We accept sealable containers (gourds, covered coffees...) but not hot or sticky food. Please read our conditions for snacks in the library.
  • Working spaces : ULiège has a number of study and co-working spaces, in addition to the study rooms listed below.
  • B3: the B3 Resource Center (Outremeuse) is freely accessible but applies summer schedules until August 23 : Weekdays from 2pm until 6pm and Saturday from 10am to 4 pm. Usual schedules resume on Monday August 25.

Seat reservations

1 - It is mandatory to book your seat in the following locations.

Downtown (20-Août)

Sart Tilman

Seats can be booked for the whole day, up to a maximum of 3 days in advance.

*Our reservation system allows you to select a specific place in the library, on an interactive map, in these three locations.

2 - Upon your arrival, check in to confirm your presence.

Use the QR code located at the seat you booked. Without check-in, your seat will be automatically released within 30 minutes after the beginning of your reservation period.

Check-in will only be possible in the vicinity of the library (using your browser's geolocation feature). This is in response to suggestions made during our last survey on seat reservations. If you don't have a smartphone or computer that can do this, please contact the library reception desk: we'll check in for you.

3 - If you're unable to come, cancel your reservation.

Use the link you received in your reservation email. This will free up the space for others.

4 - Check out if you leave your place earlier.

Use this link you received in your reservation email. This will free up the space for others.

The reservation system will be activated on Friday July 25, to enable you to book your seat for Monday July 28.

Students from other institutions

Due to the large number of students coming during the reading period, study in the library is reserved for members of the ULiège and the CHU of Liège.

However, several ULiège areas remain accessible to you during this period and you can still benefit from our resources and services (loans, returns, reservations, consultation of specific documents, etc.). You are welcome to use them for the rest of the year.

We wish you all the best in your studies!
